Free as in Freedom, now and forever
LibreOffice is Free and Open Source Software, available for everyone to use, share and modify, and produced by a worldwide community of hundreds of developers. Our software is tested and used daily by a large and devoted user community – we're open to new talent and new ideas, so get involved and influence its future.
Built on a strong heritage
LibreOffice is a successor to OpenOffice.org (commonly known as OpenOffice), which in turn was based on StarOffice. Many years of development have gone into the software, and it has been used in its various incarnations by millions. Today, LibreOffice is by far the most active continuation of the OpenOffice.org codebase, with releases every six months and hundreds of contributors. Also, LibreOffice uses libraries from the Document Liberation Project, handing control back to content creators.

You can download and use LibreOffice for free, but bear in mind that it doesn't include technical support or other value-added services. If you want to deploy LibreOffice in a business, we strongly recommend sourcing a LibreOffice-based solution from one of our ecosystem partners.
New Features
Say hello to the NotebookBar!
LibreOffice 6.2 includes a new - but optional - user interface design called the NotebookBar. It unifies toolbars, and groups them into tabs, helping you to work smarter and faster.Word processing at the next level
In Writer, when you're tracking changes in a document, performance is much faster - especially in large documents. In addition, you can now paste spreadsheet data directly in an existing table (rather than as an object, plain text or new table). LibreLogo, the programming interface for graphic design and education, has got unit testing, compiler fixes and improvements.Take your spreadsheets further
In Calc, it's now possible to do multivariate regression analysis using the regression tool. Many more statistical measures are available in the analysis output, while data validation now supports custom formulas. Finally, a new function, REGEX, was added, to match text against a regular expression and optionally replace it.Pristine presentations and drawings
When you're editing an animation in Impress, you can now change the motion path by dragging its control points. Also, a couple of text-related drawing styles were added, while a Table submenu was added to the Format menu in Draw.LibreOffice online - your office suite, anywhere
In LibreOffice Online, the cloud-based version of the suite, the user interface has been simplified for mobile devices, with better responsiveness and updates to the on-screen keyboard. Meanwhile, security has been strengthened with Vereign-compatible authentication and document signing, along with a new signing infobar.
LibreOffice available in Windows operating system, Linux operating system, and Mac operating system with x86 or 64bit.
